Four-and-a-half years old and still serving me well
by mrlancermr on January 27, 2008
Pros: Easy to use, attractive design, compact
Cons: No wi-fi, audio jack is 1/16" instead of 1/8"
Summary: I bought my h1940 some time before the summer of 2003, and it's still doing its job well. Here's what I use it for:
Contacts, Schedules, Notes, To-do ...Summary: I bought my h1940 some time before the summer of 2003, and it's still doing its job well. Here's what I use it for:
Contacts, Schedules, Notes, To-do list, Portable photo album, MP3 player, Voice recorder, Video player*, Games, Reading, MS Word and Excel, and doodling pictures. It still does all of these things well.
It has no Wi-Fi, but it could connect to the Internet. It could, but it's too cumbersome. You could do it through ActiveSync. You could get a wi-fi SD card. You could connect to something else with Internet access via bluetooth, like a computer.
The audio port is one of those tiny 1/16" holes. You can't plug in your earphones without a 1/8" -> 1/16" adapter. It's not that big of a deal. Just leave the adapter on your earphones!
*You have to convert videos to .wmv or else find a 3rd party media player. -

"Convienent, good for first timers, but screen is horrible"
Pros: Small, light, what a pocket pc should be (wow a pocket pc that fits in my pocket). Bluetooth was convienent, and it held battery life pretty well. (I am a university student and I used it to type my notes for 3 hour lectures)
Cons: Too fragile for real life, screen cracked after 3 months of use, make sure you buy accidental insurance on any warrenty!!!

Cheap construction, Bad customer service
Pros: Bright screen ,fast processor
Cons: Display screen will break under normal use conditions, bad cutomer service from Hp
-
Good hardware, poor software.
Pros: Easy to hold, very slick. Good input, nice bright display, reasonable speeker and mic.
Cons: Documentation, what documentation? well unless you caount the 5 or 6 adverts and the fact that the box comes with a big warning. Well that big warning, don't plug the ipaq it into a pc before you install ActiveSync, or you may never be able to sync....
-
A very nice mid-priced hand held.
Pros: Windows Mobile, MS Office compatible, Bluetooth, expansion slot and owner replaceable battery.
Cons: Battery life and Windows Media Player
-
Great Product, but cracked screen
Pros: Awesome value, great size
Cons: Screen cracked while in a case, in my side pocket, after 7 weeks of use. Are you kidding? I'm not the only one with this issue. Buyer beware (and get an accedental damage protection plan!)
